Empyrean Halo Brings Connected Intelligence Across the Benefits Experience

Empyrean Halo connects benefits data, digital interactions, and operational expertise to improve employee guidance, service delivery, and benefits administration across the full benefits lifecycle.

HOUSTON, [August, 2026] — Empyrean is bringing AI together with a trusted foundation of benefits data, automation, and operational expertise through Empyrean Halo, the intelligence layer embedded across the Empyrean benefits experience. By connecting employee guidance, service, and administration, Empyrean Halo helps close the gap between how benefits are designed and how they perform in practice.

AI creates value when it makes benefits easier to understand, service more effective, and administration more reliable,” said Kelly Clark, Chief Technology Officer at Empyrean. “Empyrean Halo puts that intelligence to work across the benefits experience while keeping expert accountability at the center.”

How Empyrean Halo improves the benefits experience

Empyrean Halo applies AI across four connected areas of the benefits experience:

Conversational benefits experiences

Powered by Empyrean Halo, the digital assistant allows employees to ask questions in their own words and receive clear, context-aware guidance based on their employer’s benefits information.

Empyrean’s digital assistant accurately addresses an employee’s question in the first response at least 92% of the time, and 98% of sessions are resolved digitally without necessitating a transition to human support. Spanish-language interactions account for approximately 10% of all digital assistant sessions, helping more employees access guidance in their preferred language. Empyrean Halo’s digital assistant supports more than 100 languages, dynamically adapting to a participant’s language in the moment.

Service experiences

When the conversation requires live agent support, relevant context transfers securely to a representative, creating a smoother transition without requiring the employee to repeat their question or background information.

Empyrean Halo then supports representatives with richer context, more consistent information, automated call documentation, sentiment insights, and continuous quality signals.

Within Empyrean’s accountable service model, Empyrean Halo contributes to:

  • 93% first-call resolution
  • 30% decrease in repeat callers
  • 25% fewer service escalations
  • 95% average interaction-quality score

Service remains a core Empyrean differentiator because complex benefits moments often require human judgment and accountability. Empyrean Halo strengthens those interactions with better context and more consistent support, while experienced representatives bring compassion, expertise, and follow-through to each interaction.

Administrative efficiency

Empyrean is also extending Empyrean Halo-powered conversational capabilities to administrators, helping them find information and access relevant program data more quickly.

Empyrean Halo helps implementation teams interpret plan documents and prior-recordkeeper materials, generate and update requirements, identify discrepancies earlier, and focus testing on complex rules and client-specific exceptions.

Empyrean expects that these capabilities could reduce client effort by up to 25% and shorten end-to-end implementation timelines by at least 15%, with additional efficiencies in requirements development and discrepancy triage.

Because implementation requirements, configuration decisions, testing documentation, and ongoing operations remain connected, Empyrean can trace issues to their source and resolve them faster after go-live.

“Empyrean Halo helps us reduce implementation effort without reducing the rigor within it,” said Colleen Waymel, Chief Operating Officer at Empyrean. “That means easier onboarding for employers, stronger requirements, and a more reliable foundation for ongoing administration.”

Engagement and decision support

Beyond answering questions and improving administration, Empyrean Halo strengthens personalized decision support through experiences such as Precision Benefits, helping employees make more informed decisions during enrollment and throughout the year.

More than 80% of eligible employees opt in to Empyrean’s AI-powered personalized enrollment guidance. Employees who follow Precision Benefits recommendations save a median of approximately $1,800 annually, with some saving more than $4,000.

Intelligence grounded in accountability

AI delivers meaningful value only when it is grounded in trusted data, proven processes, and clear accountability.

Empyrean Halo draws on client-specific benefits information, including plan configuration, eligibility rules, employee data, service activity, and operational workflows. Empyrean Halo operates within governed processes supported by data security, privacy protections, human oversight, and ongoing quality monitoring. Experienced teams validate outputs and guide execution.

Empyrean Halo drives better experiences and overall efficiency without changing what clients count on most: experienced teams who take ownership of accuracy and outcomes.

Making benefits work better

For employees, that means clearer benefits guidance and more relevant support. For HR and benefits teams, it means less administrative friction and better visibility. For organizations, it means greater confidence that benefits are understood, supported, and administered as designed.

Empyrean Halo is the AI built into the benefits experience to make benefits work better.
